What We Supply as Premium Frozen Dark Mulberries

The term dark mulberry describes the commercial fruit color, not a guaranteed botanical species. Dark-fruited cultivars can belong to different Morus species, so we use Morus spp. until the raw-material documentation confirms the species or cultivar.

Premium Dark Whole

Selected for visible retail, fruit-cup, dessert and premium foodservice applications.

Standard Dark Whole

Balanced whole-fruit, color and Brix targets for dairy, bakery and smoothie programs.

13-17 mm Calibrated

Measured at the widest berry diameter under the agreed inspection method.

Natural Uncalibrated

Natural crop size for general manufacturing where exact sizing is not essential.

Whole IQF dark mulberries in natural frozen condition

Current-lot photos help confirm natural color distribution, berry size, short pedicels and whole-fruit condition.

Buyer Risks and GreenLand-food Controls

Dark mulberries are delicate. Orders can fail when a high-Brix claim is not supported by the current lot, whole-fruit and dark-color ratios are undefined, natural short pedicels are confused with long stems, or thawing produces excessive crushed fruit and juice blocks. We turn those risks into measurable order points.

Buyer Concern Reference Acceptance Point Our Control Buyer Evidence

Specification note: Mulberries are a natural agricultural product. Size, Brix, pH, acidity, color and texture vary by species, cultivar, maturity, weather and lot. We confirm binding requirements through the approved sample, final specification and sales contract.

Brix, pH and Acidity Control

We evaluate Brix together with pH, titratable acidity, maturity, aroma and fruit condition. A 15°Bx minimum is reserved for a selected high-Brix lot and must be verified before order confirmation.

Processing

Brix ≥10°Bx.

Standard Dark

Brix ≥11°Bx.

Premium High-Brix

Brix ≥15°Bx by lot test.

pH

3.60-4.60 reference.

Acidity

0.80-1.80 g/100 g as citric acid.

For a contract COA, we test representative thawed berries, press and filter the juice, measure Brix near 20°C with a calibrated refractometer and use the agreed pH and titration methods.

Dark purple to black IQF mulberry color and Brix grade review

Dark appearance is assessed separately from Brix; color alone does not prove sweetness or anthocyanin content.

Dark Purple-to-Black Color Grade

We evaluate color under consistent lighting using a representative frozen sample. Natural variation from dark purple to black is acceptable, while red, pale, colorless, under-ripe or abnormally brown fruit is controlled by weight.

Premium Dark Ratio

Minimum 95%.

Standard Dark Ratio

Minimum 90%.

Red / Pale

Maximum 3%.

Colorless / Under-Ripe

Maximum 3%.

Dark color is a commercial maturity and appearance parameter. We publish an anthocyanin value only when the order includes an agreed analytical method and batch report.

Whole frozen dark mulberries for integrity and leakage review

Whole-fruit quality is judged together with crushed fruit, frozen juice, clumps and thawed appearance.

Whole-Berry Integrity and Juice Leakage Control

Mulberries are softer than blueberries and other firm berries. We therefore define whole-fruit ratio, crushed-fruit percentage, frozen juice leakage, clumps and free ice instead of relying only on the word whole.

Premium Whole

≥95%; broken/crushed ≤5%.

Standard Whole

≥90%; broken/crushed ≤8%.

Frozen Juice

Maximum 3%.

Clumps / Free Ice

Maximum 3% / 1%.

Choose the Right Frozen Dark Mulberry Grade

Grade Concrete Reference Recommended Application
Premium Dark Whole Whole ≥95%; dark ≥95%; Brix ≥15°Bx by lot; broken ≤5% Retail, fruit cups, dessert topping and premium foodservice
Standard Dark Whole Whole ≥90%; dark ≥90%; Brix ≥11°Bx; broken ≤8% Yogurt, ice cream, smoothies and bakery
13-17 mm Calibrated Widest diameter under agreed method Retail, foodservice and standardized dosing
Processing Grade Brix ≥10°Bx; breakage by approved specification Juice, puree, jam and sauce
Certified Organic Physical grade plus valid certification and transaction documents Certified-organic retail and manufacturing

Processing Grade changes appearance and whole-fruit tolerance. It does not reduce microbiological, residue, traceability or foreign-material requirements.

Pedicel, Leaf and Foreign-Material Control

A natural short pedicel attached to the berry can be accepted under the approved sample. We inspect long stems, leaves and unrelated plant material separately rather than combining all of them into one vague percentage.

Short Pedicel

Permitted by approved sample.

Long Stem >10 mm

Proposed max. 1 piece/kg.

Leaves / Plant Material

Proposed max. 1 piece/5 kg each.

Exogenous Matter

Glass, metal, plastic and stones absent.

Metal detection or X-ray is described only when the selected factory, product and pack format have a validated inspection program.

Frozen food X-ray inspection equipment for foreign-material control

Inspection equipment supports foreign-material control when validated for the selected order.

Microbiological and Intended-Use Control

The standard product is an ingredient for food manufacturing, foodservice preparation or further processing. Ready-to-eat status requires separate confirmation of the facility hygiene program, microbiological verification, intended use and destination-market requirements.

Reference Test Reference Export Limit
Total Plate Count ≤500,000 CFU/g; internal target ≤100,000 CFU/g where agreed
Coliforms ≤1,000 CFU/g; internal target ≤100 CFU/g where agreed
E. coli ≤100 CFU/g; internal target ≤10 CFU/g where agreed
Yeast and Mould ≤100 CFU/g under the reference export specification
Salmonella Absent in 25 g
Listeria monocytogenes Absent in 25 g

We finalize the test list and limits according to destination, intended use, facility capability and signed customer specification.

Residue and Contaminant Control

Pesticide MRLs and contaminant limits differ by market and can change. We confirm the destination country, relevant commodity category, customer list and laboratory scope instead of presenting an old universal heavy-metal table as a guarantee for every shipment.

Pesticide Residues

Comply with destination-market MRLs and signed specification.

Heavy Metals

Items and limits confirmed by destination and customer program.

Batch Evidence

Accredited laboratory report arranged when included in the order.

Jiangsu Raw Material and June-July Crop

The commercial reference origin for this grade is Jiangsu, China, with a June-July harvest and IQF production window. The exporter location in Xiamen is not the raw-material origin.

Because dark-fruited mulberries can belong to different species or cultivars, we confirm farm region, commercial variety, species documentation and crop lot before binding contracts. Frozen inventory supports year-round shipment subject to grade and stock.
